Frequently Asked Questions
-
What types of procedures require a Fredy?
Most outpatient procedures involving anesthesia or sedation require a responsible adult to accompany the patient. This includes cosmetic surgery, colonoscopy, endoscopy, eye surgeries, and more. -
What is the difference between a Fredy and a rideshare driver?
A Fredy is a trusted adult who stays with the patient from check-in through discharge. Unlike rideshare drivers, Fredys meet provider requirements and are registered in advance with the provider when needed. -
How do I know if my provider requires a trusted adult?
Many facilities include this in pre-op instructions. You can confirm directly with your scheduler or discharge planner—most require your companion’s name and number prior to the appointment. -
Can I schedule last-minute or same-day?
Yes, based on availability. Use our online booking form or contact us directly to check availability in your area. -
