Common questions

What patients need to know before booking

Can MyFredy fulfill my facility’s responsible adult requirement?
MyFredy is designed for the trusted or responsible adult role required by many outpatient facilities. Because individual policies vary, provide MyFredy with the facility’s check-in, on-site and discharge requirements when booking.
Does my Fredy stay at the facility during the procedure?
When the facility requires on-site presence, your Fredy remains available throughout the procedure and continues through discharge and transportation to the recovery destination.
How is MyFredy different from a rideshare?
A rideshare provides transportation only. A Medical Procedure Companion can check in as the trusted adult, remain available, receive discharge instructions, sign required paperwork and continue supporting the patient after leaving the facility.
What happens when my procedure time changes?
Procedure schedules commonly move as the date approaches. MyFredy coordinates timing updates with the assigned Fredy. Schedule changes are free through 11:59 PM on the evening before the procedure.
Can my Fredy remain with me after I get home or return to my hotel?
Yes. Non-clinical aftercare can be arranged for 4, 8, 12 or up to 24 hours at the patient’s home or hotel, subject to availability and advance coordination.
Does MyFredy provide medical or personal care?
No. MyFredy provides strictly non-clinical support. Fredys do not diagnose, administer medications, provide nursing care or replace instructions from the patient’s medical team.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds?
MyFredy bookings may be eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement. Eligibility depends on the individual plan, so patients should confirm coverage with their plan administrator.
Reserve your procedure support

Do not let the responsible adult requirement delay your procedure.

Book your procedure date, select the service and time block, and let MyFredy coordinate the rest. Free schedule changes are included through the evening before your procedure.
