But not just colonoscopies. Cataract surgery, dental surgery, plastic surgery procedures, knee and hip surgeries - all of these require us to have someone assigned to receive post operative instructions, ensure that any pharmacy stops are made, and that we get safely home.
To put it simply - we are not in a condition to see ourselves home safely after these procedures and so the physicians have a responsibility to discharge us only to a someone who has accepted their role as your escort.
