Rescheduling and cancellation policy
Outpatient procedure schedules frequently change. MyFredy lets you reserve the date first and update the appointment date or time at no charge through the cutoff below.
Change the date or time
Change the scheduled service date or arrival time at no charge through 11:59 PM the day before service.
Cancel before the cutoff
Choose either a refund minus the $135 cancellation fee or retain the full paid value as credit toward a future booking.
After the cutoff
Bookings cannot be cancelled after 11:59 PM the day before service. Contact MyFredy immediately if the provider changes the day-of schedule.
Example: For service scheduled on Tuesday, free date or time changes—and the two cancellation options—are available through Monday at 11:59 PM.
This policy applies to Medical Procedure Companion bookings and Aftercare included within a procedure booking. Home Visit purchases have separate nonrefundable package terms explained below.
Medical Procedure Companion pricing
Choose the time block that covers your Fredy’s scheduled arrival, the provider’s responsible-adult requirement, on-site availability through discharge, transportation and the return to the planned recovery location. All prices below are in U.S. dollars.
3 hours

The minimum service block. Often used for approved discharge-to-home service or a brief local procedure when the facility permits the Fredy to arrive later.
4 hours

Useful for a shorter outpatient appointment with check-in, waiting, discharge and a local return home or to a hotel.
5 hours

Provides more room for check-in requirements, procedure delays, recovery-room timing, pharmacy needs and the return trip.
8 hours
$640
Designed for longer procedures, greater timing uncertainty, multiple logistical steps or an extended outpatient procedure day.

MyFredy pricing covers a managed responsible-adult companion service—not simply a vehicle or one-way ride. Operations coordinates the booking, Fredy assignment, confirmations and schedule updates.

Charges that may be separate

- A Short Notice Fee when the booking falls within the current late-notice window
- Pharmacy copays, recovery supplies and other purchases made for the patient
- Optional continued Aftercare at the patient’s home or hotel

This is not just a ride home after surgery
A rideshare provides transportation. A Fredy fulfills the professional, non-clinical companion role your provider expects: present for the required portion of the appointment, available through discharge and able to accompany you to the approved recovery destination. How much time should you reserve?
Count from the time your Fredy is scheduled to meet or pick up the patient through discharge and completion at the recovery location. Include check-in time, procedure time, recovery-room delays, transportation and any planned pharmacy stop.
These are planning examples rather than guarantees of procedure duration. Follow the estimate provided by your facility when available. You may reserve the date before the final time is confirmed and update the schedule under the policy above.
Post-Procedure Aftercare
MyFredy can continue providing non-clinical companion support after the patient returns home or to a hotel. Aftercare may be added to procedure-day service or arranged separately when another responsible adult is already handling the procedure and discharge.
When Aftercare is added to a Medical Procedure Companion booking, select the total planned coverage time and review the exact calculated price before payment.
How Aftercare pricing is calculated: Combined bookings use the selected Medical Procedure Companion package plus the additional planned coverage needed, currently priced at $80 per additional hour outside a base package. Home Visits provide friendly check-ins, errands and practical help for you or someone you care about. Choose a 75-minute Classic Visit, a 150-minute Double Visit or a 225-minute Extended Visit, then purchase one visit or a package of 5, 10 or 30.

Private-pay service with HSA and FSA payment options
MyFredy is a private-pay companion service. HSA and FSA cards may be used at checkout, although the patient’s individual plan determines whether the expense is eligible. Retain the MyFredy receipt and confirm plan rules with the account administrator.

What is MyFredy’s cancellation policy?
A Medical Procedure Companion booking may be cancelled through 11:59 PM the day before service. Before that cutoff, choose either a refund minus the $135 cancellation fee or full credit toward a future booking. The booking cannot be cancelled after 11:59 PM the day before service.
Can I change my procedure date or time without paying a fee?
Yes. Change the scheduled service date or time at no charge through 11:59 PM the day before service. Send MyFredy the update as soon as the facility confirms it.
What if my facility has not provided the appointment time?
Reserve the procedure date rather than waiting for the final schedule. Use a reasonable placeholder arrival time during booking and update MyFredy when the facility confirms the appointment time.
What is included in the Medical Procedure Companion price?
The base package includes the Fredy, centralized Operations support, the selected pickup or meeting plan, on-site presence through discharge, responsible-adult support, transportation to the recovery location, a pharmacy stop when needed, procedure-service parking and tolls, and a 30-minute grace period.
Can additional fees apply to my booking?
An applicable Distance Premium, NYC Transportation Surcharge or Short Notice Fee is displayed before payment. Pharmacy copays, patient purchases and additional service time may be invoiced separately after service.
What happens if the procedure runs longer than the time I booked?
Your Fredy remains available through discharge. Every Medical Procedure Companion package includes a 30-minute grace period. When service continues beyond the package and grace period, additional time is invoiced after service under the booking terms.
How much does additional planned time cost?
Additional planned hours outside a Medical Procedure Companion base package are currently $80 per hour. The booking form calculates the package composition and displays the exact total before payment.
How is Post-Procedure Aftercare priced?
When Aftercare is combined with procedure-day service, select the total scheduled coverage and review the exact price in the booking form. Standard Aftercare durations include 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours. Call 888-552-3610 for standalone Aftercare pricing and scheduling.
Are unused Home Visit package visits refundable?
No. Home Visit purchases, including unused package visits, are nonrefundable. Package customers may schedule remaining visits later through the secure management page, subject to availability.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
MyFredy accepts HSA and FSA card payments at checkout. Eligibility depends on the individual plan, so confirm coverage with the plan administrator and retain the MyFredy receipt.
Does MyFredy bill health insurance?
MyFredy is a private-pay, non-clinical companion service and does not bill health insurance. Some patients use HSA or FSA funds when permitted by their plans.
Does MyFredy provide medical care?
No. Fredys provide non-clinical companion and practical support. They do not diagnose, assess symptoms, administer medication, provide wound care, monitor vital signs or replace a nurse, home-health professional or emergency medical service.
