Post-Procedure Aftercare at Home or Hotel
Recover with a dependable person nearby after outpatient surgery or a medical procedure. MyFredy provides vetted, trained companions for 4, 8, 12, or 24 hours of non-clinical aftercare at your home or hotel—either as a continuation of your procedure-day service or as a separate booking.
Planned companion support only. MyFredy does not provide nursing, medical treatment, or emergency care.
Choose a scheduled block based on your procedure, discharge plan, and expected recovery needs.
Support begins wherever you will recover after discharge, including medical-travel hotel stays.
Add aftercare to Medical Procedure Companion service or book post-procedure support separately.
Aftercare that begins where discharge ends
A successful discharge does not always mean a patient is ready to recover alone. Sedation, fatigue, discomfort, limited mobility, and unfamiliar post-operative routines can make the first hours at home or in a hotel the most difficult part of the day.
MyFredy post-procedure aftercare provides a consistent, non-clinical companion who remains present during the scheduled recovery period. Your Fredy helps with practical needs, keeps the recovery environment organized, and provides the reassurance of having a trained, dependable person nearby.
This service is especially useful for patients who live alone, are traveling for treatment, have limited family availability, or simply want professional support without placing the responsibility on a friend or relative.
What your aftercare companion can help with
Every plan is shaped by the written discharge instructions from your clinical team and the practical support you expect to need during recovery.
- Getting comfortably settled at home or in your hotel after discharge
- Pharmacy pickup and retrieval of essential recovery supplies
- Simple meal setup, drinks, and hydration reminders
- Reviewing written discharge instructions with you and keeping them organized
- Reminders based on the medication schedule provided by your care team
- Continuous nearby presence, reassurance, and companionship
- Light household or hotel-room tasks related to immediate recovery
- Help keeping approved rest, movement, and follow-up routines organized
- Optional updates to a family member or designated contact, with your permission
- Help contacting your provider or emergency services if a concern arises
A Fredy does not diagnose, assess symptoms, provide wound care, administer medication, give injections, monitor vital signs, perform skilled transfers, or replace a nurse or home-health professional. If a medical concern or emergency occurs, your Fredy helps contact your clinical team or 911 and follows their direction.
When post-procedure aftercare is especially helpful
Recovery needs vary. These are some of the most common situations in which patients and families arrange a MyFredy recovery companion.
Extended procedures, multiple treatment areas, discomfort, compression garments, and hotel recovery can make practical help especially valuable.
Temporary mobility limitations can make meals, supplies, routine movement, and the first evening at home harder to manage alone.
Patients may remain tired, unsteady, or less able to manage instructions and ordinary tasks after the responsible-adult discharge period ends.
Patients recovering in a hotel often need local, dependable support when family or friends did not travel with them.
Aftercare provides planned support during the first recovery hours without requiring a friend, neighbor, or coworker to take responsibility.
Adult children and other relatives can arrange professional support and receive permitted updates without being physically present.
Choose the amount of support that fits your recovery
MyFredy offers scheduled post-operative companion care in several coverage blocks. The right duration depends on your discharge time, procedure, mobility, recovery location, and whether someone else will take over later.
Advance scheduling is recommended. Service is subject to companion availability in the recovery location. Custom arrangements may be discussed directly with MyFredy.
Two ways to schedule MyFredy aftercare
Book a Medical Procedure Companion for check-in, on-site presence, discharge, pharmacy, and return home or to your hotel, then continue directly into aftercare. MyFredy plans the assignment so the same Fredy can remain with you from the procedure through recovery whenever possible.
Already have a family member, friend, or other responsible adult handling the procedure and discharge? MyFredy can arrange a separate recovery companion to begin at your home or hotel for the scheduled aftercare period.
How scheduling works
For standalone aftercare, call national intake at 888-552-3610 or Jonathan at 678-250-4611. To add aftercare to procedure-day service, use the online booking form. Share the procedure date, expected discharge plan, recovery address, and desired duration.
Our centralized support team reviews the plan and assigns a vetted, trained Fredy who is available for the complete scheduled period.
Your Fredy arrives as coordinated, remains present, helps with practical recovery needs, and keeps MyFredy support available throughout the service.
A fully managed service, not an open caregiver marketplace
MyFredy coordinates the assignment, service expectations, scheduling, and support rather than simply displaying profiles and leaving the patient to manage the relationship.
- Vetted companions: Fredys are screened, trained, and thoroughly background checked.
- Centralized support: MyFredy remains the primary point of contact before and during service.
- Consistent standards: Companions follow the same non-clinical service expectations across markets.

- National availability: Service is coordinated across the United States, subject to local coverage and scheduling. View MyFredy service areas.
MyFredy services may qualify for reimbursement through a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. Eligibility depends on your plan, so confirm requirements with your plan administrator.

Post-procedure aftercare questions
Is MyFredy aftercare the same as nursing or home health?
No. MyFredy provides non-clinical companion support. A Fredy does not diagnose, assess, provide wound care, administer medication, monitor vital signs, or replace a nurse, certified nursing assistant, or home-health professional.
Can I book aftercare without booking a Medical Procedure Companion?
Yes. Aftercare may be booked independently when a family member, friend, or other responsible adult is already handling the procedure and discharge. Your Fredy can begin service at your home or hotel.
Can a Fredy provide aftercare at a hotel?
Yes. Hotel aftercare is common for patients traveling for plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures, specialty treatment, or other outpatient care away from home. Provide the hotel name, address, and room-access plan when scheduling.
How long can post-procedure aftercare last?
Standard coverage options are 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours. The best duration depends on discharge timing, procedure type, mobility, recovery location, and when another trusted person will be available.
Will the same Fredy continue from my procedure into aftercare?
When procedure-day service and aftercare are booked together, MyFredy plans for the same Fredy to continue through the scheduled recovery period whenever possible. Booking in advance gives us the best opportunity to provide seamless coverage.
Can my Fredy help with medications?
A Fredy may pick up prescriptions, help keep written instructions organized, and provide reminders based on the schedule supplied by your care team. A Fredy cannot select, dose, administer, or make decisions about medication.
What happens if I have a medical concern during aftercare?
Your Fredy helps contact the physician, facility, on-call clinical team, or emergency services as appropriate and follows their instructions. MyFredy does not evaluate symptoms or provide medical treatment.
Which procedures commonly use MyFredy aftercare?
Aftercare is frequently arranged following plastic and cosmetic surgery, orthopedic procedures, oral surgery, fertility treatment, pain procedures, general outpatient surgery, and procedures involving heavier sedation, discomfort, or temporary mobility limitations.
Can my family receive updates?
Yes. With your permission, your Fredy can provide practical updates to a designated family member or contact. Medical interpretation and clinical updates should come directly from your healthcare provider.
Can I use HSA or FSA funds for aftercare?
MyFredy services may be eligible for HSA or FSA reimbursement. Coverage rules vary by plan, so check with your plan administrator and retain your MyFredy receipt or invoice.
Is MyFredy aftercare available nationwide?
MyFredy coordinates post-procedure companion support across the United States. Availability depends on the recovery location, requested duration, and scheduling lead time, so early booking is recommended.
Book 4, 8, 12, or 24 hours of non-clinical aftercare at your home or hotel. Call national intake for standalone aftercare, or use the booking form to combine aftercare with Medical Procedure Companion service.
